Ahala Press

Hello community!! We have been on a long hiatus from sharing but guess what!? AMAZING things have happened that we can’t wait to share, and we will also tell you about the whole process!

First, let’s reintroduce ourselves:
We are Wensly and Jo-Ann Anijs, co-owners of Ahala Press. You might have seen us on Instagram and Facebook. Wensly is an accounting professional and Jo-Ann an educator. Whether you have been with us from the get-go or just recently joined our community, we are so grateful to have you on this journey with us.
Amazing things that have happened!
Wensly was an accounting professional on medical leave and on bed rest when he decided to try his hand at writing a second Children’s book. And here’s what’s happened since!

Our BIGGEST Wins!

🥂🍾 We were able to write our new Children’s book “Yes I Can” Sylvester and send it to a small sample of our target audience to get valuable feedback. The story revolves around Sylvester who manages to escape life on the plantation to start his own community.

🥂🍾 We scheduled a consultation with “The Incredible” Author Valorie Thompkins to learn about book launch strategies.

🥂🍾 We secured printing services that will allow us to improve our margins, also thanks to Valorie Thompkins. I would like to add that you can best support independent authors by purchasing directly from their website or social media (DM). In case you use a third-party distributor we only receive a fraction of the proceeds.

🥂🍾 As far as Marketing efforts; we plan on putting more emphasis on social media like TikTok and Instagram and our Newsletter. We plan on putting out various Reels to promote our books to engage more and more viewers! Don’t forget to leave a review and send a DM on social media to share your thoughts about the books. There is so much more to share but these are the highlights. Having a day-job combined with parenthood and our determination to publish Children’s books that our audience appreciates is a massive undertaking. Fear and doubt start to creep in, but that was exactly what our second book is about; overcoming fear and doubt. So, we didn’t give up!
